HOW TO PLANT PLANTAIN AND HOW TO APPLY FERTILIZER OR MANURE

Plantain is plant with seedling call plantain sucker. This sucker is  extract from parent plantain. During the extraction you must be careful that at lease single root was extracted with the sucker. The sucker will grow with single root if transfer into another farm. But if there is no single root, the sucker will die during the planting.

How do will plant the suckers. This can be done in two ways.
1. With help of manure or fertilizer.
2. Without help of fertilizer

After you have cleared your land, you need to know the history of the land you acquired if they have been planting on it for quite long time or they plant on it recently. If they plant on it recently you need to plant your sucker with help of manure or fertilizer.

How do i do this. You dig your hole, not too deep. It doesn't necessary to dig your soil for 1 foot before you can plant,. 5 TO 10 CM  is ok. Then you pour your fertilizer or manure little quantity in the soil   then you cover it with sand. Then you put your sucker inside and cover it with sand.

Note, you should be ensure that your sucker doesn't make any contact with the fertilizer. if this occur, your sucker will die prematurely. Similarly if you are using poultry dump as your manure, you need to sun dry it or allow the acidic contact to dry off before you apply it to your crops.

In case your farm is a virgin land have been farm on it for quite long time. You can plant directly without help of fertilizer or manure. But i strongly advise you to apply fertilizer two after planting. This will help your crop a lot.

Similarly, when your crops is show flower, you are strongly advise to apply fertilizer called POTASSIUM. This help fruit a lot.

all pour all, animal manure remain the best for the soil and the crops this because it contact all nutrient needed by your crops in appropriate proportion not like fertilizer that contact certain amount of nutrient.
